Project Superintendent 
Stencil Group – St. Paul, MN

The Stencil Group specializes in multi-family and mixed use buildings.  Our original focus was in the Dakotas but we are broadening our horizons.  Stencil’s has been growing steadily over the past decades and have opened an office in the 1st National Bank building in St. Paul.  We have many projects lined up and are in need of good people to bring these projects to reality.

We are looking for Project Superintendents to join our Construction Team. The qualified individual will supervise all on-site construction, including, scheduling subcontractors, resolving day-to-day problems, inspecting all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications as well as scheduling Inspections with the governing municipality.


As a Project Superintendent, will work closely with the Project Managers, internal team members and subcontractors to ensure project success. The Project Superintendent will be based in our St. Paul office but will be working on projects in the metro area as well as projects in the Rochester area.



Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written.

2-5 years of Field Management experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 

Computer literate!!   Know how to use Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).  Knowledge of project management software and scheduling software is preferred (MS Project).

Working knowledge of skilled trades including carpentry, masonry, concrete work, site excavation and grading, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical.

Must be proficient reviewing and understanding all construction documents including plans and specifications.

Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies.

Possess strong analytical abilities to visualize, articulate, and conceptualize complex problems and formulate a plan of action. 

Review project proposal, plans, and project specifications to determine schedule, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to various phases of project. 

Coordinate and control daily scheduling and sequencing of subcontractors. 

Guide subcontractors and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances associated with the project and work force. 

Conduct weekly contractor meetings, compile meeting notes and distribute to all involved parties.

Prepare technical memos, project reports, and other documentation for Project Team.

Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules. 


Coordinate and control daily scheduling of deliveries.

Complete all OSHA required safety training and implement learned protocols at active project sites. 

Ensure that job trailers have copies of personnel policies and Job Safety Data Sheets/MSDS. 

Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies as necessary.


Ensure that the site is open for work to commence and secure the site on a daily basis.

All other duties as assigned.
